Dear Dragons,

I am excited to be starting my second year as the Proud Superintendent of Belle Plaine Schools.

It was a very successful first year as your Superintendent. As I look forward to this coming school year, I will be rolling out our Strategic Plan. Please look for this information early fall 2024. We are also excited to welcome new staff members and students to the district.

Speaking of communication, I will be starting my new Town Hall meetings bi-monthly so I can be a listening ear to any questions or concerns you may have. These will launch early fall and are open to anyone.

Professional Experience

Current Position:

This is my first year as the Proud Superintendent of Belle Plaine Schools!

Previous Position:

I started my teaching career 27 years ago in rhe Olathe School District where I taught first grade for 6 years and third grade for 3 years. I also served as the district Summer School Principal for 3 years. I then moved to Coffeyville, Kansas and served as the PreK-4th grade Assistant Principal at Community Elementary. From there I moved to Valley Center, Kansas where I served as the principal of West Elementary for 9 years and then the principal of Valley Center Middle School for 2 years. Most recently, I served as the principal of Beech Elementary for 4 years. That brings us to my current position as the Proud Superintendent of Belle Plaine Schools.

Family Info

I am married to my wonderful wife Heather who is a Nurse Practitioner. We have 3 boys. Dylan is 22 and is in his first year of graduate school at KU School of Medicine where he is working for his doctorate in physical therapy. Caden is 18 and will be a freshamn at K-State and will be studying pre-law. Our youngest is Jagger and he is 3 years old and loves his big brothers.

Personal Information

When I am not as work, I love spending time with my family and rooting for the best team in the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs. GO CHIEFS!
